Official Map for GG5

One of my old clan mates makes maps. If you tell me what you guys want and I can have him make it. Maybe you can all throw in a bunch of ideas and we can make it the OFFICIAL GunGame 5 map.

I don't think there will / ever should really be one Official Map. Maps are all preference, there is no map that will be perfect in everyone's mind and this is why there are so many different maps to chose from.

I think it would be cool to throw ideas together to make a map we would like, but I'm not a fan of labeling it the one "Official" GG5 map.

What I like in my GunGame maps:
- Elevation (2-3 "levels" is good)
- Well-balanced but preferably non-symmetrical
- Multiple paths to choose from, but not so many that you step into a room and have 5 or 6 directions to be shot from
- Maps that you can get "good at" as you learn them better -- ladders that require jumping to, places you can reach in non-intuitive or not immediately obvious ways
- Both long-range and tighter areas to accommodate all gun situations
- Most importantly of all: Not too big! This ruins so many potentially good GunGame maps

If it's not already obvious from the points above, I think the greatest ever is texture city advanced.

Yeah...we don't want to make any GunGame maps "official". This is really boils down to a matter of preference. I've played many maps that some people think are awesome, while I think that they are horribly unbalanced.

There are some really great maps out there for GunGame. Unfortunately, I don't ever forsee us making any of them "official".

We could make a Community-aided Map Pack (CAMP) that they use in DoD:Source.

We start a vote on here, then the top 10 maps with the most votes get put in a Map pack. This would then be distribute with GunGame.

I think the maps should be left out of gungame all together. It is personal preference to the sevrer user at the end of the day.

Example, my gungame turbo dm. Most played map is gg_aim_shotty and all other maps on there are similar. Small all about 5 ft away from each other and dead in about 2 seconds after spawning

However on my gungame low gravity normal server, there are huge maps on there. Yet everyone likes to play them for some reason, which i personally don't understand

So making a map pack of 10 maps would be very restricted on variation between servers. You could have maps from each different type of server but then you have people with a gungame turbo dm, with 3 large maps in the mappack whihc they don't want.

Could have a GunGame recommends for Deathmatch servers ... sort of packs. But i don't think a general map pack should be made.

Hey what ever happened to this GREAT idea? I'd love to see a compilation of everyone's ideas. I seem to remember an old 1.6 map called gg_transform or something like that, it was a little advanced for gg, but I still loved that map! Anything that transforms in the middle is always fun, lol.
