??? Didn't see this anywere else ???

First off I'd like to say thank you to the admin here, I am currently running my own server (a personal build that runs my home network) I loaded the GG5 and had the DM issue, because of your attachment and info that is now fixed :). On to my pressing issue, I have a free site that has ftp space available - I used BZip2 through 7zip and took all the maps on my server, one by one zipping them into bz2 files, then uploaded them to my free site. When I delete a map out of my list and jump into my server to "re-download" the map it installs the map in record time then says "Couldn't CRC Map map/dm_deagle5.bsp" "disconecting" how do I fix this (without paying for webspace on a server - if that would even change my current problem) I have had several of my friends try this as well as ran a map they didn't have and they get the same result! I have currently dissabled this option because I don't want it hindering my clan members and friends from playing on my server but I would really like to get this resolved. ANY IDEAS ARE WELCOME AT THIS POINT!!!

In addition here is a link to my freesite maps section were i have included links to all of the maps my server runs: http://home.comcast.net/~hpgeneral/site/?/page/Maps/
(If you select the link it will open an auto download for that map!) Some of the maps listed are built by myself/my roomate/and other friends - not all of them are available anywhere else feel free to take them!
If you download it from this section and unzip to your maps folder, CSS has no problem joining the server. Only failure happens when the server gives you the bz2/bsp.

The main thing is, you need it to be in ../page/cstrike/maps/ and not ../page/Maps/ . Also, you need to have 'all' content that needs downloaded on the server as well as the fast download site.

I appreciate the link it answers a lot of misc. questions but everything i have to download has been set up properly. The Maps listing is for the page not the ftp access thats set up a different way. My concern was the BZip2 download, so since I don't exactly have to use that I will test out the standard format instead, thank you for your assistance. All additional advice is still welcome, I would prefer to use the BZip2 format and I will post my results to the standard format as soon as I can.

Are you saying your bz2's are all on ftp? I'm pretty sure you have to use http, and ftp won't work. Or am I misunderstanding?

You utilize the ftp space but run the command through the http what it does is if i was to direct link the file through the http so it opens right up instead of going to the site and selecting them yourself. for example this is one of my maps this would be a direct link http://home.comcast.net/~hpgeneral/maps ... tle_v4.bz2 if you click the link it will start the download what i have for my code is like hidden ftp throught the website exactly as follows sv_downloadurl "http://home.comcast.net/~hpgeneral/cstrike/maps" so its set up right its just having issues with the bz2 files. I can download the map by joining the server it goes to the proper directory it just hits me with that error and will not let me join the server with that map in my cstrike/maps folder I then replace that map with the original and walla i can join. Hope that explains the situation a little better.

Well, do you really have:
sv_downloadurl "http://home.comcast.net/~hpgeneral/ctrike/maps"
If you do, drop off the /maps for it to work correctly. Also, the link you provided does not have cstrike/ in it. It should be http://home.comcast.net/~hpgeneral/cstr ... tle_v4.bz2 .
