We should try to come up with a target release date for GG5. The way we are going it's open ended. I would love to see a date sometime in the next month as the target.

Any thoughts on this?

I asked xe_manup about this a few days ago. He said at least three weeks if not more (because he has to pre-release to counter-strike.com).

April 1st, that way if it turns out too many bugs are in it then you can say it was a joke xD

A target would be awesome, but as ID software famously said:
Its done when its done.

Yeah, we aren't ID. Here's the deal guys. One of the reasons I want this to go public soon is so we can pay for this server. I've got the Google Ads running here and I encourage you to click any you find interesting or intriguing. Don't go wild on it as that would send up flags but if you see something you want to know more about then click the ad.

The other reason I want this to go public is so people don't start going to SourceMod for their GG needs. We need to keep GG an ES staple.

To my understanding the Sourcemod one is bugged and unsupported. I doubt anyone would really switch over, gungame 3 and 4 are much better.

You apparently missed a little my "Call to arms" post in the ES forums :P

The developer of GunGame:SM has aborted development (from what I hear).

Yeah, I would like to get this released here soon as well. This needs to be discussed.

I'm sure it would be possible for counter-strike.com to sponsor us, if you replace the Google Ads with a counter-strike.com banner at the top of the page.

Mattie said he got rid of Google Ads and got sponsors instead and now he rakes it in ;)

I don't think he "rakes it in" but yeah he did say he made more off the 2 ads than he did off the Google ads. Maybe someone who knows the folks at Counter-Strike.com(hint XE) should ask them if they are interested.

I don't know them very well, as cagemonkey was the one that struck the original deal with them. I'll see what I can find out.

As far as sponsoring, I have a hosting reseller account and could host these forums and the gungame downloads for free. However, i do remember having a server with counter-strike.com and they boasted of having the latest build of gungame to install via control panel before it was released to the public. So im sure it wasnt a simple sponsorship, he gave something in return to them.

I know what it was about, I was just trying to avoid speaking about it in a public limelight. ;)

Basically, GunGame has to be pre-released to Counter-Strike.com 1 week prior to "official" release.

my appologies if it wasnt supposed to be public, I just figured everyone that has had a counter-strike.com server already knew that.
