Turbo Sounds Not Playing

I have been having an ongoing issue with the turbo sounds on my server. Some times when a user triple levels certain people can't here the music. This happens while users are alive and dead. I notice it mostly when a triple level happens like this.

I'm shot and killed while still in the weird deathcam view, before going into their first person
They either get another kill which triple levels them or some one near them gets a triple level and then the sound doesn't play.

I also notice this while I'm alive though, sometimes I'll be alive and some one will go running by me at mach 10 but with no sound playing.

In both cases some people can hear the sound play but not everyone.

I am using multiple sound files for my triple level, I have 25 of them that randomly play.

Please let me know what kind of info I can supply to help better trouble shoot this. As always here's my GG files from the CFG directory. ;)

Next time it happens, check your console for a red error line, about a music file.
EDIT: to be clear, your clients in-game console.

Shucks - good luck

Unfortunately that's the first thing I checked. No errors of any kind. I still think it has something to do with too many things firing at once through ES or a range issue of some type.

OK so, I had never had this problem before, I was using 2 custom multilevel sounds and the default.
A few days ago, i started using 8 sounds, all custom.
And i was just in spectator after dieing a few minutes ago, and somebody i was in vent with was multileveling and i couldnt hear the song. But they could. !!!!
So maybe something where you have lots of choices?

Satoon, Manup? Any thoughts or ideas? I'm wondering if the quake sounds from MAP could be messing with it some how too?

This is really annoying as the sounds consistently not playing and the server playing the same files back to back is annoying. People get turbo you can't hear them coming and they rape you. Please some one help, between ES forums and here I've gotten no help on this issue. :(

I have been doing some testing on GunGame this week, but haven't gotten around to everything. This is still on my todo list, but it has been slow going as of late. I will look into it when I get the opportunity to do so.

Thanx bro, that's all I needed to know. Gotta understand posting and getting no response in a long time gets a little unnerving. Glad to see you're still kicking. Let me know if I can submit any data to help find the issue.

I guess it would help if you could send me (or just attach them here) your sound files. I'll need to test with the same exact setup that you have (or as close to as possible) to figure out the issue. I am hoping to release a new version of GunGame once I get this issue (and hopefully a few more) figured out.

Just PM'd ya with the info bro. I think the files was too big to upload to the forums. 127 audio files in total and we want to add more. ;)

Haven't seen anything on the SVN yet. Able to figure anything out on this one yet?

No, sorry, haven't tested this yet. Though, the code looks like it should definitely work. I mean, it uses es.emitsound(), which means it is not playing the sound 'directly' to a player, but instead is 'broadcast' from a location on the map (which is the position of the player that caused the event). It just doesn't make sense that some players hear them and others do not.

Yeah and it's not all the time. Obviously it happens more often when the server is fuller.

Anything else I can do to get this one moving along quicker?

Also with this and I feel like a complete tool for always forgetting to ask. Some people keep asking for a way to turn off the Sounds from GG.

Is it possible to make a GGmenu? Say like ggmenu in chat and get this.

*****GG 5.1.503 Settings*****
1. Triple Level Sounds - Off
2. EndofGame Sounds - On
3. Level Up Sounds - On
******************************

Once you press the number it turns it on or off and give the individual user a chat confirmation. Hopefully storing the user settings in a database file.
[GG Settings] Triple Level Sounds are now Off.

Well, the way it is currently written, you cannot turn off any of the sounds. I'm not sure if this is something that we would even want to add in.

As for Triple Level, it uses es.emitsound(), which cannot be turned off at all, since it is emitted from a point on the map and not specifically played to any individual user.

That is why I really don't understand the main issue of this thread. Unless there is some unknown issue with es.emitsound() itself, the issue seems "impossible" to have happen. No amount of testing could possibly lead me to any sort of conclusion.

Were you unable to replicate the problem?
