No winner sounds (occassionally)

Postby meanconnie » Mon Jan 16, 2012 3:51 pm

Hi,
Every once in a while my winner sounds will not play ... ( I am using DM Turbo with Warmup)
there will just be an empty void (no sound) at the end of the round
I have them set up as such in the winner_sounds.txt: in the sound_packs folder
gungame/pillars.mp3
gungame/eye.mp3
gungame/rapture.mp3
gungame/confusion.mp3
gungame/beat.mp3
gungame/urgent.mp3
gungame/thunder.mp3
gungame/spirit.mp3
gungame/love.mp3
gungame/teen.mp3

Same problem here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Custom welcome sounds and winner sounds not working. Everything else is great.

I have all sound in my cstrike/gungame/sound both on my server and fast d/l site. I also have the sound in just about every sound place imaginable on the server.

I have my text files setup, but winner sounds and welcome sounds not working. Anyone have a tutorial or know of any issues with the welcome/winner sounds?

Thanks
jarns

Have you tried to delete the sounds from the folder on your hd and then when you join the server let them download again cause they may have not downloaded it right. Try these 2 commands in console and see what happens. cl_allowdownload 1 and cl_allowupload 1

I use the exact same sounds as my welcome sounds randomly, and they all play fine.
So this really has me baffled.
On gungame, It will play 4 songs then skip 2

Is it specific songs that are never played? Or does it play each of them sometimes, but just doesn't play every time?

It plays each of them sometimes, but does not play them all the time.
But as I said, all the sounds play, because I use all the same sound files as random welcome sounds

It seems to stop after the 4th sound file, skip 2, then play the next 4 sound files again.
Is 4 the limit?

no 4 nots the limit i have about 6-8 and it plays mine fine. one thing that could also be wrong is that the bitrate maybe wrong on then ones that dont play. try changing the bitrate to 128 and see if that fixes it

Fixed it.

Pretty easy solution, cant believe how dumb I am.

First make sure you have your sounds on your css server in the correct folder cstrike/sound/gungame
and on your ftp server cstrike/sound/gungame

Make sure your default.ini in cstrike/cfg/gungame51/sound_packs has the following lines for random winner sounds:

winner = "winner_sounds.txt"
roundwinner = "winner_sounds.txt"

Make sure you have a winner_sounds.txt in the same folder with the following.

gungame/song1.mp3
gungame/song2.mp3

Anyone else who needs further help I am more than happy as I know this was a bit of a pain to setup. The instructions are clear enough, but a little weird your first time through (at least in my experience).

roundwinner = "winner_sounds.txt"

Hmmm.. Didnt see that one I add it to the default.ini, and give that a try

Maybe its my server settings
Is there certain criteria for gungame?

btw... the bitrates are fine on the sound files but thanks because they all play fine on the welcome sounds
