Gungame Sounds not downloading sv_download and bzip

Postby Lothar » Tue Jul 06, 2010 2:28 pm

Well here goes. I have a fresh srcds orange box install here.

I have installed everything and are supposedly up to date date with it all.

sv_download is enabled and the .bz2 map files and mani sounds are downloading fine off the web server.
For your info the server is IIS 7.5. The mime types are setup for bz2 files.

Should I have the sounds as non bziped ?

With this amount of information, your asking us to guess what your problem is. Try double checking some settings, and trying a few things yourself... If you are still having issues, come back to us with more information.

These are the current settings that I can think of that affect the downloading.

sv_pure 0
sv_downloadurl "http://192.168.1.10/css"
sv_allowdownload "1"
sv_allowupload "1"

On the join of the map it would not play the file that says "this server is running gungame".

I have found this nifty tool called SourceRSC over at http://www.brainless.us/downloads.aspx?cid=1, that appears quite usefull, that I used to bzip all files not default with CS:S. With this app all my map files all the sounds were bzipped to the web directory.

I have temperaly disabled sv_downloadurl "" and found that my local client downloaded the sound files (and played them ingame). I deleted the files and restarted the server to have the sv_downloadurl back to normal and re-joined. It appeared to re download the bz2 in the client (this is also confirmed with the webserver logs)

Weird. It may have just been a restart or some weird caching issues with IIS or something.
edit: Cheers for the speedy reply :D, real nice community here :P.
