Yes, he was. That rascal.

Well, he's pretty sure it happened due to a VAC issue while he was running a Listen Server but Valve is actually looking into it.

I am hoping that I am right. However, I did not ask to be unbanned, and this is temporary. I'm not sure how I feel about discussing it publicly as I may be re-banned.

I will say this much; I was very surprised and pleased to be contacted in light of the situation. The person that contacted me was very helpful, but straight-forward. His #1 concern was for a potential false positive, which makes me happy to know that a company takes pride in their product, and any bugs within.
