Problem with weapons

Postby SpeedOver » Sun Nov 30, 2008 9:55 pm

Hey,

I'm having a problem with gg5.

When I load up a new game or close CS:S and then go back into it later on (on my server), it resumes from the rank I left it at when I left last whereas I want it to start from scratch when I (or a bot/user) joins.

E.g, If a game continues when I leave and then I rejoin later, I want it so that I have to start from the first level gun instead of taking off from the last one. Also, sometimes when I add a bot to the game, it starts off from a higher rank than the first one.

Another problem is that sometimes on the server, if a person kills another person it'll come up with "0 has taken the lead with 'x' points" (where 'x' is what the points number would be), or something like that. It sometimes doesn't display the persons name, just displays '0' instead!!

If you could help then it would be greatly appreciated.

In ../cfg/gungame5/gg_default_addons.cfg:
//=========================================================
// HANDICAP
//=========================================================
// Handicap averages the level of all the players.
//
// Options: 0 = Disabled
// 1 = Enabled

gg_handicap 0

Try setting gg_handicap 0 and it will stop setting new players' levels to average.

In ../cfg/gungame5/gg_en_config.cfg:
//=========================================================
// RECONNECT PUNISHMENT
//=========================================================
// This variable controls the number of levels a player will lose if they
// disconnect, then reconnect in the same round.
//
// Options: 0 = Disabled

gg_retry_punish 1

Try setting gg_retry_punish 100 and it should start everyone on level 1.

What version of GunGame are you running? You can find this in ../addons/eventscripts/gungame/logs/errorlog XX.txt

I think that the "0 is leading on level..." was fixed many revisions ago.

It's already set to 0.

Even after a clean install, when a person joins the game after being in thegame hours before, they start from where they left off, gun-wise. How do I stop this?

Also, is there any way so that when a new map is loaded that everyone starts from the first gun?

I just joined SpeedOver in his server to test this, after hi re-installed, and there were no issues. He said he will post back here if anything starts happening that he mentioned above.
