Map list, voting, etc.

Postby sludeking » Fri Aug 26, 2011 9:00 am

Hi. I've gotten gungame working and all and have uploaded all the gg maps I want to the server.

However, as admin, if I want to build a map vote (using mani) I have to use mani's maplist.txt to do so.

Is there a way so that when gungame is loaded, that mani admin uses a custom maplist.txt that only has gg maps in it instead?

Or, if gungame is loaded, can I force mani to exlcude certain maps (all non-gg ones).

I hope you understand what I mean, if not please say so and I'll try to rephrase it better.

That is precisely what the gg_server.cfg is for. You can use that to set your mapcyclefile to something other than the standard, as well as modify (if possible) mani's map vote.

Hi, ManUp.

Ok. Nice to know. My gg_server.cfg file is completely empty though. No configuration options in it at all.

Or am I supposed to place all that info in it myself? In that case, where do I find the various options that can put in the gg_server.cfg file?

Any non-GunGame server variables that you want to be different while running GunGame than when not running GunGame should be set to their non-GunGame values in your ../cfg/server.cfg file. Place all of those variables with their GunGame values in the ../cfg/gungame51/gg_server.cfg file. And yes, it is empty by default. We execute that file after the server.cfg has been executed so that when GunGame is running, the GunGame values are used.

I haven't used Mani Admin in a very, very long time. I believe there is a server variable that defines what maplist file to use when running the vote, but I don't remember what it is. You should look through the Mani documentation and I'm sure you'll find it in there.
